Harbor Rig

An interesting raft with with a rig of some-sort caught my eye.

Bocce Court

Bocce looked like it might be similar to lawn bowling, however, the bocce balls are spherical and do not have inbuilt bias.

The results of my binding workshop with UK Master Binder, Dominic Riley.

Learning basic tooling techniques was incredibly fun and the results satisfying.  See below:

Fish.

What a beautiful evening in Sausalito.  Fish. has delicious food. Try the BBQ oysters sometime... the thought is making my mouth water.

The Ideal Sketchbook

For three years I have wanted to participate in bookbinding classes taught by Dominique Riley.  My day was very satisfying and his class did not disappoint.  The structure we constructed today is modeled after William Wordsworth diaries and journals.  Dominique explained that whilst he working with the William Wordsworth Trust he was able to ascertain how Wordsworth's diaries & journals were bound.

I have included a few shots from today's class below.

Lunar June

I walked out about 8:30 pm to take a look at the moon.  A beautiful, bright orb hanging over the city. At least that is the impression from my vantage point.  The glow illuminating the treeline in the distance are the lights of San Francisco.

If you were fortunate enough to be in the Southern Hemisphere, you would have enjoyed a full lunar eclipse.

A jigger or two...

I had to go into work for a good part of the day - ugh.  However, when we took a break for lunch, despite the rain, I brought my camera.  Most of my shots really didn't work out.  However, whilst waiting for a sandwich I noticed the light bouncing off the bench and the bar jiggers.  Shots from my afternoon's study are below:
